For the first time ever we made a movie call G.I Boot Camp. This year we get to go to the Manaiakalani Film Festival and Hoyts. We will see our movie and others from Manaiakalani Schools on the big screen. Each school will make a poster which is displayed at the cinema. Here is our poster.

G.I. Bootcamp by Chloe
Wow, I can't believe that it's the first time ever, our school has made a Manaiakalani movie. Also a movie showing at the film festival from Glen Innes School. Having netbook's is one of the best thing that has happened to our school. Without it we probably wouldn't be having this wonderful opportunity that I am experiencing now.

Making every part of this movie has built our brains but mostly laughter. It was just like an ordinary school day. We worked during the holidays trying to finish it off before the big day. Our school disco was my main topic in the movie sharing how much fun we had there.
Our movie contains activities, learning and shows students that have developed good values during this fantastic year. I had a awesome time making our movie. I bet you will have fun watching it.

Earthquake Drills - Its not like the movies by Sameera
Our first movie for the Manaiakalani Film Festival shares lots of fun activities and learning at our school. Watch out for the earthquake drill. If you practise these three easy steps it could help you in a real life earthquake.
- Drop
- Cover
- Hold.
These are very important to learn because you never know what is going to be happening next. Glen Innes School has already learnt how to do these three important drills. We also talk about earthquakes happening around the world. We thought it was important to show other schools what we have been learning in our school.

Manaiakalani Film Festival by Auariki
Wow! This is my first time taking part in the Manaiakalani Film Festival. I will also be presenting our film at the film festival.
Glen Innes (G.I.) students wanted to share how we use our knowledge and the different ways we learn.
Our net-books have been fun to use. Going back through my other years I have always used paper and pencils, it was tiring and slow. But with the net-books its been so much faster than before. G.I are so proud of our net-books.
Our movie is about a boy who comes home from school and his mother asks him what he done in school today. He replies "Nothing mum".
He expects his mother to believe him, but does she?
That is why his mother should go to the Manaiakalani Film Festival and see for her self.
Please visit Room 11's blog too for more film festival posts
